Tennis Sport

Welcome to Tennis Sport, an app that helps you find tennis partners, create and join matches, and run a tennis team. This Privacy Policy explains how Hai Phan ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Tennis Sport app on iOS. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy and to our Terms of Use.

1. Information We Collect

Account

• Sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. We receive your email address and a user ID from the sign-in provider. If you use "Hide My Email", we receive Apple's relay address instead
• We never see or store your Apple or Google password

Player Profile

• Display name, self-assessed skill level, optional self-reported rating points and years playing, city and optional district
• Optional: profile photo, short bio, preferred formats (singles / doubles), and weekly availability
• Profile photos are resized on your device and their location and camera metadata (EXIF / GPS) are removed before upload

Approximate Location

• Only if you tap "Use current location" in Edit Profile. Your device turns its position into an approximate area of about 5 km (a geohash) and only that area is saved
• Your exact coordinates are never stored or shared. Other players only see an approximate distance
• You can remove the saved area at any time in Edit Profile

Matches & Teams

• Matches you create or join: time, format, place you typed, required level, join requests, invitations, played status, win/loss results, and no-show reports
• Teams you create or join: team details, roles, schedules, sessions, attendance, and team statistics
• Team finance records you or your team's treasurer enter: dues, court fees, shared expenses, payments, and confirmations (amounts only — no bank or card details are collected; the app does not process payments)

Messages

• One-to-one messages and team chat messages you send, so they can be delivered to the other participants. Only the people in a conversation can read it

Safety

• Players you block, and reports you send (reason, optional note, and the reported message, profile, match, or team as evidence)

Feedback & Referrals

• Feedback you send from the app (category and text). If you leave "Include app info" on, we also receive the app version, build, iOS version, and language — no device ID or location
• A referral code, and which code (if any) you entered when you joined

Usage & Diagnostics

• Firebase Analytics: in-app events such as "match created" or "invitation sent", with an app-instance identifier. We do not attach your name, email, user ID, message content, or location to these events
• Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports (stack trace, device model, OS version) from release builds only, without your user ID
• Firebase Remote Config: anonymous app settings (for example, which features are switched on)

2. How We Use Information

• Create and secure your account
• Show you players and open matches near your approximate area, and explain why a player is suggested (level, distance, format, experience)
• Run matches, invitations, join requests, results, and team activities
• Deliver messages and in-app notifications
• Keep the community safe: handle reports and enforce blocks
• Understand how the app is used, fix crashes, and improve features

Player matching is rules-based. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data.

3. What Other Players Can See

• If your profile is discoverable: your display name, photo, level, city/district, formats, bio, availability, and confirmed match statistics (you can hide statistics)
• Players in the same match or team see your name and photo in that match or team
• Team members see team finance entries according to their team role
• Your email address is never shown to other players

In Profile → Privacy you control whether you appear in Find, who can message you, who can invite you, and whether your confirmed record is shown. You can block any player.

4. Storage & Security

Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions). Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access is restricted by server-side security rules: for example, only the people in a conversation can read its messages, and sensitive actions such as joining a match or recording a payment are checked on the server.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

Tennis Sport does not include any advertising SDK.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information is shared only with the other players as described in Section 3, with the service providers in Section 5 to run the app, or if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

7. Device Permissions

Location (While Using the App) — asked only when you tap "Use current location", to estimate your approximate search area. Your exact location is never stored or shared. You can always type your city instead.

Photos — the system photo picker lets you choose a profile photo; the app only receives the photo you pick.

You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. This deletes your sign-in account, profile, photo, preferences, saved area, and notifications. Upcoming matches you organize are cancelled and you leave matches and teams you joined.

Some records are shared with other players and are kept without your name so their history stays correct: messages in their conversations (shown as "Deleted player"), past match results, team attendance, and team finance entries. Reports you sent are kept for safety review without your identity. In-app notifications expire after 90 days.

9. Your Rights

You can view and edit your profile in the app, download a copy of your data in Profile → Delete account → Download my data, and delete your account as described above. For any other request about your data, contact us using the details below.

10. Children's Privacy

Tennis Sport is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll reflect significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can other players see my exact location?

No. Tennis Sport only saves an approximate area of about 5 km and shows other players a rounded distance. Your exact coordinates are never stored.

How do I stop strangers from messaging or inviting me?

Go to Profile → Privacy to choose who can message and invite you, or turn off "Show me in Find". You can also block a player from their profile or a chat.

How do I report a player, message, match, or team?

Open the player's profile or the team menu and choose Report, or long-press a message and choose Report. The reported player is not told who reported them. You can follow your reports in Profile → Privacy → Reports sent.

Does the app handle payments for team dues or court fees?

No. Tennis Sport only records amounts so your team can keep track. Money is paid outside the app.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Profile → Delete account. You can download your data there first.
